Marc Brown and his wife have concluded a significant chapter of their lives with the sale of their Martha's Vineyard home, which served as a creative sanctuary for the acclaimed children's author for 37 years. The property, which Brown had carefully restored during his ownership, commanded $6.4 million in the recent transaction.
The estate held particular significance for Brown's career, as he authored approximately half of the Arthur book series while residing there. Arthur, which debuted in 1976, became one of the most successful children's franchises globally, spawning numerous adaptations across television, film, and digital platforms.
With the sale complete, Brown and his wife have already acquired a new residence in New York's Hudson Valley region, where they plan to undertake further restoration work. The move marks a transition to a new phase of their lives as they leave behind their long-established Martha's Vineyard residence.
