Asahi Mutual Life Insurance to recruit 1,000 staff in Vietnam

Asahi Mutual Life Insurance is set to expand its workforce significantly in Vietnam with plans to hire approximately 1,000 new staff members, the company announced as it moves forward with integrating its acquisition of local insurer MVI Life.

The recruitment drive will proceed in tandem with the completion of Asahi's acquisition of MVI Life, a landmark transaction that represents the Japanese insurer's first overseas acquisition in its corporate history. The deal, announced in December 2025, remains subject to regulatory approval from Vietnamese authorities.

The hiring initiative underscores Asahi's commitment to strengthening its presence in Vietnam's growing insurance market. The new positions are expected to support operational expansion and service delivery across the combined entity following the acquisition's finalization.

Asahi Mutual Life Insurance, one of Japan's leading life insurers, has identified Vietnam as a key market for international expansion. The acquisition of MVI Life provides the company with an established platform and customer base to build its operations in the Southeast Asian nation.

Regulatory authorities in Vietnam are currently reviewing the acquisition proposal. Industry observers view the deal as significant for the competitive landscape of Vietnam's insurance sector, particularly given the scale of integration activities planned by the acquiring company.
