The ASEAN Confederation of Women's Organisations convened its Board of Directors meeting in Hanoi to assess the regional grouping's role in advancing women's interests across Southeast Asia. Participants acknowledged that evolving regional and global dynamics present both opportunities and obstacles for women, underscoring the need for enhanced coordination among member organisations.

Conference delegates emphasised the confederation's critical function in bridging women's groups across the ten-nation bloc and mobilising coordinated responses to emerging challenges. Officials stressed that strengthened member networks and innovative operational approaches are essential to ensuring women's concerns receive adequate attention in policymaking processes.

Discussions centred on elevating women's participation in building an ASEAN Community characterised by unity, resilience, inclusivity and environmental sustainability. Participants highlighted how women-led initiatives—particularly in agriculture and cooperative enterprises—are driving green development and demonstrating women's capacity to lead transformative change.

The meeting reflects broader efforts across Southeast Asia to integrate women's perspectives into regional development strategies and ensure that female voices shape the future direction of ASEAN integration.
