Asian Tour postpones Saudi International golf event following Riyadh attacks

The Asian Tour confirmed on Thursday that the Saudi International has been postponed following attacks in Riyadh. The 54-hole tournament was set to take place at Riyadh Golf Club from November 18 to 21.

While the tour did not provide extensive details regarding the postponement, sources indicated the decision was made in response to security concerns stemming from recent incidents in the Saudi Arabian capital. The move reflects heightened caution in scheduling international sporting events in the region.

The Asian Tour stated it would work with tournament organisers and stakeholders to identify alternative dates for the event. No revised schedule has been announced at this time.

The Saudi International has been a fixture on the Asian Tour calendar, attracting regional and international competitors. This marks a significant disruption to the tour's schedule as it approaches the conclusion of its competitive season.

The Asian Tour did not immediately provide further comment regarding the postponement or potential rescheduling plans for the tournament.
