ASOS, one of Europe's largest online fashion retailers, has acknowledged a cybersecurity incident that exposed customer personal data. The breach was discovered following an investigation into unauthorised access to its systems.
In a statement, the company confirmed that the incident resulted in unauthorised access to certain customer information. However, ASOS said its investigation found no evidence that attackers obtained payment card details or account passwords, limiting the scope of the exposure.
The retailer, which operates globally including in Southeast Asia, did not specify the number of affected customers or the nature of the personal data accessed. The company said it has enhanced its security measures and is working with cybersecurity experts to strengthen defences against future attacks.
Customers in Singapore and across the region who use ASOS are advised to monitor their accounts for any suspicious activity and consider changing their passwords as a precautionary measure, despite the company's assurance that login credentials were not compromised.
