Assam to Get Northeast's Largest Power Plant: Sarma

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said a major power generation project by Adani Power will emerge as the largest thermal power plant not only in the state but across the entire Northeast region.

Speaking on the development, Sarma indicated that the facility would deliver substantial economic benefits to the region. The Chief Minister emphasized that the project would contribute to bringing down average electricity costs, a key concern for industries and households across Assam and neighboring states.

The proposed plant represents a significant infrastructure investment in the Northeast, a region that has historically faced power supply constraints.
