Law enforcement authorities in Assam have apprehended a suspect in connection with the alleged theft of 50 lakh rupees from his father's bank account. The accused, identified as Yash Agarwal, is suspected of withdrawing the substantial sum and using it for personal expenditures, including the purchase of expensive electronics and gifts for his girlfriend.

Following the discovery of the theft, Agarwal fled Jorhat, the city where the incident occurred. Police launched a manhunt to locate the suspect, utilizing cellphone tracking technology to trace his movements and establish his whereabouts.

Investigators from the police department, working in coordination with the state's cyber security division, examined digital records related to the case. Their analysis of financial transactions and electronic communications led them to classify the incident as a potential inside job, suggesting the accused may have exploited his access to family financial information or accounts.

The case highlights growing concerns over financial crimes and cyber-enabled theft within households. Police have registered a formal case and are continuing their investigation to recover the stolen amount and establish the complete chain of events leading to the theft.
