AstaGuru expands Asian footprint with Singapore hub launch

AstaGuru Auction House, a prominent player in the Indian art and collectibles market, has strengthened its international presence by opening a hub in Singapore, marking its second overseas expansion after establishing operations in London.

The move reflects the auction house's strategy to tap into growing collector bases across Asia and beyond. Singapore's strategic location and robust art market position make it an ideal base for the company to serve the region's expanding community of collectors and investors.

According to Aparna Batra, chief business officer at AstaGuru Auction House, the expansion maintains the company's core operational philosophy. "The auction model will remain digital-first, giving collectors across the world equal access, regardless of geography," she explained.

The digital-first approach has become increasingly significant in the auction industry, enabling buyers and sellers from different continents to participate seamlessly in transactions. This model allows AstaGuru to leverage its international offices while ensuring that geographic location does not create barriers to participation.

The Singapore hub is expected to enhance the auction house's ability to engage with Southeast Asian collectors while continuing to serve its established base in India and beyond.
