Authorities probe AI-generated sexual content involving Kedah students

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has issued a stern warning following reports of sexually explicit artificial intelligence-generated content allegedly involving students and teachers in Kedah.

Authorities have confirmed that a report was lodged over the misuse of AI technology to produce such material. The incident highlights growing concerns over the exploitation of advanced technology to create harmful content.

Under the Communications and Multimedia Act, the creation, distribution, or possession of sexually explicit content—particularly material involving children—carries serious legal consequences. The MCMC has reiterated that individuals found culpable face potential prosecution and penalties.

The commission urged the public to report similar incidents to authorities and reminded users that AI tools must not be deployed for illegal purposes. Investigations into the matter are understood to be ongoing.
