Avalanche in Nepal's Himalayas Claims Lives, Multiple Climbers Missing

A severe avalanche has swept through a climbing group in Nepal's Himalayan mountains, triggering a major rescue operation in one of the world's most challenging terrain. Two bodies have been recovered from the incident, according to local authorities, while search efforts continue for at least 10 Nepalese team members who remain unaccounted for.

The avalanche struck the group preparing logistics and routes for climbers attempting to summit Himlung Himal, a peak standing at 7,140 meters in the remote Mansiri Himal range of northern Nepal. The porters and guides were reportedly in the early stages of expedition preparation when the disaster occurred.

Rescue operations have been complicated by difficult weather conditions and the mountainous terrain surrounding the incident site. The Nepalese authorities have deployed rescue teams to the region, though the high altitude and unpredictable weather patterns have hindered search efforts.
