Axis Bank Launches UPI Limits, Travel Declaration Features

Axis Bank has rolled out an industry-first UPI Limit Management feature that allows customers to set caps on their Unified Payments Interface transactions, providing granular control over daily spending through the popular digital payment channel.

The new capability enables account holders to customise UPI transaction thresholds based on their usage patterns and comfort levels, reducing exposure to unauthorised transfers and fraud. Customers can adjust limits at any time through the bank's digital banking platforms.

In tandem, the bank has introduced an International Travel Declaration feature that prompts customers to notify the lender before travelling abroad. The declaration helps the bank monitor accounts for suspicious activity while the customer is overseas, flagging unusual transactions that may indicate fraud or compromised credentials.

Both features form part of Axis Bank's broader Safe Banking initiative, which encompasses multiple security tools designed to protect customer assets and data. The bank stated the offerings reflect its commitment to combining convenience with robust fraud prevention in an increasingly digital banking environment.

The features are available to Axis Bank's retail customers through digital banking channels. Industry observers note such safeguards are becoming standard practice among Indian lenders as digital transaction volumes continue to rise.
