Axis Energy has been awarded the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a 552 megawatt-peak solar project in Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh. The company expects to commission the facility within 18 months of project commencement.
The solar component is being developed as part of Evren's broader wind-solar hybrid initiative, which will also incorporate battery energy storage systems. The project is underpinned by power purchase agreements with Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL), providing revenue certainty for the developers.
The hybrid project represents a growing trend in India's renewable energy sector, where developers increasingly combine multiple generation sources with storage to improve grid stability and optimize operational efficiency. Such integrated facilities help address intermittency challenges associated with solar and wind power.
