Mohammad Azam Khan, a senior leader of the Samajwadi Party, secured temporary freedom on Thursday when the Allahabad High Court suspended the sentence against him and his son Abdullah Azam Khan in connection with an alleged dual PAN card case. The court granted both bail, paving the way for their release from detention.

However, Khan's freedom proved short-lived. A probe agency detained him soon after he walked out of jail, according to reports. The circumstances surrounding the fresh detention were not immediately clear, though it appeared to be connected to a separate matter being investigated.

The development marked another twist in the legal proceedings involving Khan, a prominent Samajwadi Party figure who has faced multiple cases in recent years. The suspension of sentence by the high court had provided relief to Khan and his son, who had been challenging their conviction in the dual PAN card case.

The sequence of events raised questions about the coordination between the judiciary and investigating agencies, as Khan's court-ordered release was immediately followed by his apprehension.
