BA Graduate Arrested for Masterminding SSC Exam Hacking Scheme
Delhi police have arrested a bachelor's degree holder operating under the alias 'Devil' for orchestrating the hacking of Staff Selection Commission GD recruitment examinations in Noida. Special Task Force (STF) personnel arrested Arun Kumar, a BA-qualified individual known in criminal circles as 'Devil,' in connection with an elaborate scheme to compromise the integrity of SSC GD competitive examinations held in Noida. The arrest marks a significant breakthrough in an ongoing investigation into large-scale online exam manipulation affecting India's recruitment process.
During the operation, police seized 11 Raspberry Pi microcomputers and several modified TFT display devices from the suspect's possession. These components were allegedly configured to intercept and manipulate examination data, enabling unauthorized access to test systems and enabling candidates to circumvent security measures implemented by the examination authority.
The case has exposed vulnerabilities in digital examination infrastructure and highlights the evolving sophistication of cyber-enabled examination fraud. Authorities indicate that Kumar's operation extended beyond a simple technical hack, suggesting involvement of a broader network of individuals facilitating the compromise of competitive examinations that determine recruitment for security and law enforcement positions.
Investigations are continuing to identify other members of the hacking syndicate and determine the scale of examinations potentially compromised. The SSC has been apprised of security breaches and is conducting a comprehensive review of its examination protocols.
