Police authorities in Bacolod City have announced a substantial security presence for the MassKara Festival, with approximately 1,800 officers assigned to patrol and oversee the event throughout its three-week run.
The festival officially begins on October 1 and concludes on October 18, with heightened activity expected during the latter half of the celebration. The Electric MassKara spectacle is scheduled for October 16, marking the festival's highlight before competitive events commence.
Dance competitions will take centre stage on October 17 and 18, featuring performances from schools and barangay groups across the city. The police deployment aims to ensure public safety and orderly conduct during the large gatherings expected at these events.
MassKara Festival, known for its vibrant street celebrations and elaborate masked costumes, draws significant crowds to the provincial capital each year.
