BACOLOD CITY — Sewing artisans trained through an intensive bootcamp program here have completed their instruction with commercially viable creations, marking progress in the city's effort to foster sustainable creative enterprises.
The initiative, organized by the city's Department of Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions, graduated 24 participants from its pilot G-Hive Artisan Makers Bootcamp Sewing Track. The program combined technical skill development with market preparation to position graduates for commercial viability.
Five of the 24 graduates have already begun moving their creations toward market entry, indicating early success in converting training into business opportunity. The bootcamp model integrates production skills with entrepreneurial guidance, addressing both the creative and commercial dimensions of small-scale manufacturing.
City officials view the program as a foundation for broader economic development in Bacolod. By supporting artisan-led enterprises, the initiative aims to create sustainable income sources while preserving local craft traditions and expanding the city's creative economy sector.
