The Bahrain Football Association announced the decision to end Talajic's tenure as head coach following the team's premature exit from the Gulf Cup tournament. The move comes after the squad failed to advance from the group stage of the regional competition.
Talajic's dismissal marks another managerial change for the Bahrain national team as it seeks to rebuild following the disappointing campaign. The coaching position is now vacant as the federation considers its options for the next phase of the team's development.
Before taking up the Bahrain post, Talajic had experience in professional football both as a player and coach. He was previously employed as a goalkeeper at Singapore's Tanjong Pagar FC between 1997 and 2001, where he competed in the S.League during a formative period for professional football in the city-state.
The Gulf Cup, a biennial regional tournament featuring national teams from the Arabian Gulf region, remains an important fixture in the competitive calendar for participating nations. Bahrain will now look to stabilize its coaching structure ahead of upcoming fixtures and qualification matches.
