Bajaj Auto's second-quarter results showed operational resilience, with earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) surpassing analyst estimates. The two-wheeler manufacturer navigated gross margin compression to deliver the operating beat, signalling improved cost management and operational efficiency across its portfolio.
The net profit performance, while positive, showed a more modest beat relative to consensus expectations, reflecting the impact of margin pressures and other cost headwinds faced during the quarter. Nevertheless, the company's ability to exceed Ebitda estimates underscored underlying strength in its core operations and demand dynamics.
Systematix Research has assigned a 20 per cent upside target to Bajaj Auto shares, citing improving unit economics and profitability trajectory in the Chetak electric scooter range. The electric two-wheeler segment has emerged as a key growth driver for the company, gaining market share as consumer preference shifts toward cleaner mobility solutions.
Analysts are closely monitoring Bajaj Auto's ability to sustain margin recovery in coming quarters as raw material costs stabilise and scale benefits from electric vehicle production materialise. The company's diversified product portfolio and dominant position in the domestic two-wheeler market continue to underpin investor confidence amid a competitive operating environment.
