Bangladesh government announces revised pay scale for civil servants

Bangladesh has issued an official notification introducing a revised pay scale for government employees, effective from July this year. The new structure will result in higher salaries for civil servants across various grades and departments.

The pay scale revision comes as part of the government's ongoing efforts to improve compensation and working conditions for public sector employees. Officials indicated the changes reflect adjustments made to account for inflation and cost of living increases over recent years.

Employees in different cadres and service groups will see varying levels of salary enhancement under the new framework. The notification provides detailed breakdowns of the revised remuneration structure, enabling departments to process adjustments systematically.

The implementation from July onwards allows government agencies adequate time to prepare administrative procedures and ensure smooth transition to the new pay system. HR departments across ministries and autonomous bodies have been directed to familiarize themselves with the notification requirements ahead of the effective date.
