Bangladesh, India continue search for window to play long-pending series

Tamim Iqbal, the BCB chief, confirmed that negotiations between the two boards remain active, though concrete plans have yet to materialise. The proposed three-match ODI and three-match T20I series will not take place in September as originally scheduled, with India committing that window to a T20I assignment against Afghanistan beginning September 13.

"That it won't happen hasn't been decided yet," Tamim said in remarks to a YouTube channel, signalling that the series remains a priority for both boards despite the scheduling challenges. He noted that both the Bangladesh Cricket Board and the Board of Control for Cricket in India are actively exploring alternative windows that could accommodate the fixture.

"Both boards are very sincere that this thing happens," Tamim explained, adding that officials from both nations are considering potential timeframes. "Both BCCI and BCB are looking at windows as well, which time what can be done."

The BCB president's comments reflect sustained diplomatic efforts to finalise the series, which has been pending for an extended period. With international cricket calendars becoming increasingly congested, finding mutually agreeable dates has proven difficult. However, Tamim's remarks suggest that the cancellation of the series has not been formally decided, leaving the door open for future negotiations.
