The Prime Minister met with officials from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to explore collaborative opportunities in human resource development and innovation-focused infrastructure projects. The discussions centered on Bangladesh's growing need for skilled workforce development in key sectors and the potential for Japanese technical assistance in these areas.
During the meeting, the two sides explored the possibility of establishing an innovation city that would serve as a hub for technological advancement and entrepreneurship. Such a project aligns with Bangladesh's Vision 2041 and the government's broader ambitions to transform the nation into a middle-income country through modernization and industrialization.
Skills development emerged as a central focus of the dialogue, with emphasis on vocational training programs that could prepare Bangladeshi workers for employment in emerging industries. Japanese expertise in manufacturing, technology, and sustainable development was identified as valuable for addressing Bangladesh's skill gaps.
The meeting reflected the strengthening economic and developmental ties between Bangladesh and Japan. JICA has been a long-standing partner in Bangladesh's development efforts, supporting various infrastructure and human resource projects across the country.
The discussions are expected to result in concrete proposals for collaboration that will be formalized in coming months, potentially enhancing Bangladesh's capacity for innovation and skilled labor production.
