Bangsamoro interim parliament enacts 94 laws ahead of transition

COTABATO CITY — The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has enacted 94 laws through its interim governing body as the territory moves toward establishing a permanent parliament, officials said Tuesday.
The Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Media Affairs Office reported that the 94 Bangsamoro Autonomy Acts have created the foundational legal architecture needed to support the autonomous region's operations and development priorities since the BTA's establishment in 2019.
The legislative accomplishments represent a critical phase in BARMM's institutional development, with lawmakers addressing governance structures, administrative procedures, and policy frameworks required for the region's continued transition toward regular parliamentary rule.
The enactment of these laws underscores the interim authority's efforts to establish legal precedents and institutional mechanisms that will guide the autonomous region during its shift to permanent governance structures in the coming period.
