Bank Manager's Quick Action Thwarts ATM Heist in Rajasthan

A timely intervention by a bank branch manager averted a significant cash heist at an automated teller machine in Nagaur district, Rajasthan, late Tuesday night. The bank's female manager, accompanied by her husband, rushed to the ATM facility after receiving an alert from the institution's electronic surveillance system indicating unauthorized access.

Upon arrival at the ATM booth, the manager observed two men inside the facility engaged in what police said appeared to be a robbery attempt. Acting swiftly, she secured the booth by pulling down the external shutter, effectively trapping the suspects inside while alerting local law enforcement authorities.

The ATM contained approximately 16.9 lakh rupees in cash at the time of the incident. Police personnel arrived at the scene and took both individuals into custody. Investigators are examining the circumstances of the attempted theft and conducting interrogations to determine the suspects' identities and possible involvement in other similar incidents in the region.

The incident highlights the role of electronic surveillance systems in banking security infrastructure and the importance of rapid response protocols in preventing financial crimes.
