Bank of Baroda posts record quarterly profit of ₹6,532 crore

Bank of Baroda's net profit surged to an unprecedented ₹6,532 crore in Q2FY27, marking a significant 36 per cent increase compared to the corresponding quarter last year. The milestone reflects the bank's strengthened financial position amid a competitive lending environment across India's banking sector.

The profit growth was bolstered by higher treasury income, which contributed substantially to the bank's bottom line during the quarter. Concurrently, the lender's advances portfolio expanded by 18.3 per cent, indicating robust credit disbursement across its customer base and business segments.

Asset quality metrics also showed improvement during the quarter, suggesting better credit risk management and a decline in non-performing assets. This combination of factors—strong profitability, credit expansion, and asset quality improvement—underscores the bank's operational resilience and strategic positioning in India's financial landscape.

The results come as Bank of Baroda, one of India's largest public sector banks, continues to navigate evolving economic conditions and competitive pressures in the banking sector. The strong quarterly performance places the institution on a solid footing for the remainder of the fiscal year.
