MANILA — The impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte advanced into its 34th day of proceedings on Monday with testimony from banking officials focusing on financial records spanning recent years.

Raquel dela Cerna, branch manager of the Land Bank of the Philippines' R. Magsaysay branch, took the stand to present year-end account balance information. The witness provided documentation related to an account ending in 2730 registered under the name of Manases Carpio, Duterte's husband, covering the period from 2022 through 2025.

The prosecution's line of questioning centered on the account records as part of what appears to be a broader examination of the vice president's financial dealings. Additional Land Bank witnesses were also scheduled to provide testimony, though complete details of their presentations were not immediately available.

The trial, now in its seventh week, continues to draw significant attention as the impeachment case against Duterte proceeds through the constitutional process. The proceedings have included testimony from multiple witnesses and the presentation of documentary evidence since the trial commenced earlier this year.
