Bapatla district activates emergency response as Cyclone Arnab approaches

The Bapatla district administration has initiated comprehensive emergency preparedness measures ahead of Cyclone Arnab's expected impact on the region. A 24-hour control room has been operationalized to coordinate immediate response activities and field incoming distress calls from affected areas.

District officials have released dedicated helpline numbers to enable residents to report emergencies and seek assistance during the weather event. These contact points will remain staffed throughout the cyclone's passage to ensure rapid response to any incidents requiring intervention.

The control room will serve as the central command hub for coordinating between various emergency services, including civil administration, police, fire services, and rescue teams. Officials have advised residents in vulnerable areas to remain alert and follow official directives regarding evacuation if necessary.

The district administration is also conducting preparedness drills and ensuring adequate stocks of relief materials, medical supplies, and rescue equipment at designated locations. Coastal and low-lying areas have been identified as priority zones requiring enhanced monitoring during the cyclone's approach.
