Barisan Nasional confident of retaining Pahang regardless of coalition

Barisan Nasional (BN) is confident it can retain control of Pahang in the next general election regardless of its coalition arrangements, according to Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

Wan Rosdy said internal surveys conducted by the BN-led state government indicate the coalition has the capacity to hold the state in the 16th general election (PRU16), whether it partners with Perikatan Nasional (PN), Pakatan Harapan (PH), or contests as a standalone bloc.

The statement reflects the Pahang leadership's assessment of voter sentiment ahead of polls widely expected within the coming months. It underscores confidence within BN's Pahang machinery that local political dynamics remain favourable despite broader shifts in the national political landscape.

The comment comes as various political coalitions position themselves for the upcoming electoral contest, with multiple power-sharing arrangements remaining under discussion at the national level.
