Investigators probing the building collapse have established that basement construction activities were in progress before the structure gave way, according to law enforcement officials. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhimanyu Poswal disclosed that the accused, Hariram Gupta, has admitted to overseeing renovations in the basement of the building.
