Batik Air launches direct Miri-Subang service from December 1

Low-cost carrier Batik Air will commence operations on a new direct route connecting Miri and Subang from December 1, marking an expansion of the airline's domestic network. The new service is designed to strengthen air connectivity between Sarawak's northern region and Malaysia's economic heartland in the Klang Valley.

The addition of the Miri-Subang route addresses travel demand between the two destinations and is expected to facilitate easier access for business travellers, tourists, and residents commuting between Miri and the Klang Valley. The direct link eliminates the need for connections through hub airports, reducing travel time for passengers on the route.

The launch forms part of Batik Air's ongoing expansion strategy to enhance regional connectivity. The development is anticipated to generate positive impacts for Miri's tourism sector and business community by improving accessibility to the nation's commercial centre.
