Bay of Bengal system set to strengthen into cyclonic storm by Oct 26

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert regarding a weather system currently forming over the Bay of Bengal, which is expected to gradually strengthen over the coming days.

According to the IMD's forecast trajectory, the system is anticipated to develop into a depression by October 24. It will further intensify into a deep depression on October 25 before reaching cyclonic storm status over the west-central Bay of Bengal by October 26.

The progression from depression to deep depression to full cyclonic storm represents an escalation in wind speeds and organizational structure. Such intensification cycles are monitored closely by meteorological agencies to provide advance warning to coastal communities and maritime interests in the region.

The IMD typically updates its forecasts every six hours as new observational data becomes available. Residents and authorities in coastal areas of eastern India are advised to monitor official weather bulletins and advisories as the system develops.
