Bay of Bengal system to bring rainfall to Kerala from November 1

The India Meteorological Department has forecast that a low-pressure area currently forming over the South Andaman Sea and adjoining regions of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is likely to strengthen significantly in the coming days. The system is projected to intensify into a depression over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas by Sunday, marking a potential shift in weather patterns for southern India.

The development of this weather system comes as Kerala faces dry conditions in late October. Once the depression moves westward and influences the peninsula's weather, it is expected to usher in a fresh spell of rainfall across the state from November 1 onwards.

Meteorological officials indicate that the intensification of the system will be gradual, with the depression expected to develop as it moves over the warm waters of the Bay of Bengal. The timing and intensity of rainfall in Kerala will depend on the system's precise track and speed of movement across the Indian Ocean.

The IMD continues to monitor the weather system and is expected to issue regular updates and warnings as the depression develops. Residents and authorities in Kerala are advised to stay informed of official weather bulletins for the latest forecasts and any weather-related advisories.
