Bengal CM accuses Left, TMC of eroding Hindu cultural traditions

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday levelled accusations against previous Left Front and Trinamool Congress administrations, asserting they pursued policies aimed at weakening Hindu cultural traditions within Bengal. Speaking on the issue, Adhikari contended that decades of governance by these two political dispensations had eroded longstanding cultural practices integral to Bengali Hindu identity.
The Chief Minister's remarks come amid heightened focus on religious and cultural issues in the state. His comments reflect broader concerns within certain political circles regarding the preservation of traditional practices and community interests.
Adhikari also drew attention to the case of Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu, a Hindu monk from Bangladesh currently in custody. Recent photographs showing Das Prabhu grieving beside his mother's mortal remains have circulated widely in media, intensifying scrutiny of the circumstances surrounding his incarceration and detention conditions.
The Chief Minister's statements underscore ongoing political discourse in Bengal regarding cultural preservation and minority community concerns, issues that continue to feature prominently in state-level political debates.
