Bengal CM Sets Out Four-Point Plan Centred on National Security

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Friday articulated his administration's governing framework, built on four foundational pillars designed to reshape West Bengal's development trajectory. Speaking at an event in Siliguri in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Adhikari stressed that his government would brook no compromise on national security and nationalism.

Since assuming office, the state administration has prioritized long-pending Census completion and expedited land transfer to the Border Security Force along West Bengal's international boundary with Bangladesh, the Chief Minister said. These measures underscore the government's commitment to strengthening border infrastructure and territorial security in the northeastern region.

Adhikari outlined the four-point agenda as encompassing an unwavering stance on national security and nationalism, welfare initiatives, enhanced coordination between state and central security agencies, and ensuring equitable distribution of government benefits to their intended recipients. He stressed the necessity for closer synergy between regional and national security establishments to stem revenue leakage and curtail illegal cross-border movements, a persistent challenge in the border districts.

The Chief Minister's remarks reflect the BJP government's emphasis on centralizing national security concerns within its policy framework, while simultaneously addressing administrative efficiency and welfare delivery mechanisms across the state.
