Bengaluru Metro Pink Line nears approval as Blue Line trials accelerate

Final approval for Bengaluru's Pink Line Metro corridor is anticipated within the next five days, signalling progress on one of the city's key transit projects. The timeline was announced following a ministerial review of ongoing Metro construction work across the network.

Parallel to the Pink Line milestone, officials are accelerating work on the Blue Line corridor, which will connect KR Puram with Hebbal and extend to Kempegowda International Airport. Trial runs for the Blue Line are now scheduled to commence by the end of October, representing a push to address earlier delays that have affected the project's implementation.

The dual announcements underscore efforts to expedite Bengaluru's Metro expansion, a project crucial for managing the city's growing transportation demands. The minister overseeing the portfolio has directed construction officials to intensify efforts on both corridors, prioritizing completion of pending work and adherence to revised timelines.

The Pink Line and Blue Line extensions form critical components of Bengaluru's broader Metro network development strategy, aimed at improving connectivity across the tech hub and reducing congestion on city roads. Once operational, these corridors are expected to significantly enhance public transit capacity in the region.
