Bengaluru traffic police book 566 motorists for drunk driving

Traffic police in Bengaluru have intensified their crackdown on drunk driving, with officers booking 566 motorists during a special enforcement week. The coordinated drive was conducted across all 53 traffic police stations in the city limits from August 24 through the night of August 30.

The operation marks part of ongoing efforts by city traffic authorities to improve road safety and reduce alcohol-impaired driving incidents. Officers deployed across jurisdictions conducted random breath tests and vehicle checks during the seven-day period, identifying violators who were subsequently booked under relevant traffic and criminal laws.
