Bengaluru upgrades property records system with e-Aasthi 2.0 launch

The Greater Bengaluru Authority has unveiled e-Aasthi 2.0, an enhanced digital system designed to modernise property record management across India's IT capital. Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda inaugurated the platform, which builds on earlier digitisation efforts in the region.

Bengaluru is home to approximately 35 lakh registered properties, presenting a substantial challenge for record-keeping and documentation. According to officials, the digitisation initiative has already processed between 23 and 24 lakh property records, with draft e-Khatas—traditional property documents—issued to property owners through the new system.

The e-Aasthi 2.0 platform represents an upgrade from the previous version and is intended to improve accessibility and efficiency for citizens seeking property-related services. By bringing property records into a centralised digital framework, authorities aim to reduce processing times and minimise documentation errors that plague traditional paper-based systems.

The initiative reflects broader efforts across Indian states to digitise land and property records, a critical step toward transparent and efficient real estate transactions. Bengaluru's substantial property base makes the digitisation effort particularly significant for the city's administrative infrastructure and citizen services.
