Bengaluru Water Board Expands Service Area Across Urban District

The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has significantly expanded its service area with a new notification that brings the entire Bengaluru Urban district under its jurisdiction. The expanded coverage includes five taluks in their entirety: North, East, South, Yelahanka, and Anekal, along with all villages within these administrative divisions.

The expansion marks a substantial increase in the water authority's operational scope, reflecting growing demands for regulated water supply and sewerage services across the urban district. The move consolidates water management infrastructure under a single administrative body, potentially improving coordination and service delivery across the region.

The fresh notification formalizes the BWSSB's responsibility for water and sewerage management across a wider geographic area, encompassing both urban and semi-urban settlements within the five taluks. This development comes as Bengaluru continues to experience rapid urbanization and infrastructure pressures across its districts.
