Bersatu open to cooperation as PKR backs candidate in Bemban

Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz, Bersatu's head of communications, said the party welcomes assistance from any faction capable of boosting its candidate's chances in the Bemban by-election.

His remarks came after PKR announced its stance on the contest, with Faisal characterising the opposition party's position as constructive for Bersatu's electoral efforts.

The statement underscores Bersatu's pragmatic approach to securing support across political lines ahead of the ballot. By-elections in Malaysia have frequently seen shifting alliances and cross-party cooperation, particularly when candidates enjoy broader backing.

Bersatu, which has been part of various governing coalitions since its formation, continues to position itself as open to collaboration with political partners who share common interests in specific contests. The Bemban by-election represents a test of the party's ability to mobilise support beyond its traditional base.
