Bersatu has set its sights on fielding candidates in up to 10 state assembly constituencies for the Melaka state election, according to the party's communications chief in the state. Hishamuddin Abdul Karim said the target encompasses potential cooperation with other opposition parties or coalitions, giving the party flexibility in its electoral strategy. Among Bersatu's priorities are retaining the seats of Bemban and Sungai Udang, which are currently held by the party. The announcement comes as opposition parties across Malaysia prepare for the Melaka state assembly election, with various political coalitions determining their seat allocations and electoral pacts. Bersatu's participation underscores the competitive nature of the upcoming contest and the various permutations being explored by opposition blocs to maximise their representation in the state legislature.
