The opposition Bersatu party is preparing to sign a cooperation agreement with the Selangor state government similar to an existing pact with the federal administration. Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said negotiations on the terms are in their final stages.

Selangor's opposition Bersatu party is moving closer to formalising a cooperation agreement with the state government ahead of the tabling of the state budget, mirroring arrangements already in place at the federal level.
Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari confirmed that the state administration and Bersatu representatives are finalising the terms of what would function similarly to a Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA). Such arrangements typically involve opposition support for key legislative matters in exchange for negotiated concessions.
The development signals a shift toward greater political cooperation in Selangor, Malaysia's most economically significant state. A CSA-like framework would provide the state government with additional stability when crucial budgets and legislation come before the assembly.
Bersatu's willingness to negotiate such an arrangement reflects the evolving political landscape in Malaysia, where formal cooperation pacts between ruling and opposition coalitions have become more commonplace following the 2022 general election.
