BGB prevents six people from illegally crossing into India at Chapainawabganj

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has successfully prevented six people from attempting an illegal crossing into India at the Chapainawabganj border, according to reports on Tuesday. The individuals were intercepted while trying to push through the international boundary in what authorities characterised as a cross-border infiltration attempt.

The operation reflects ongoing efforts by BGB personnel to maintain border security and prevent unauthorised movement across the Bangladesh-India frontier. The Chapainawabganj border region, located in northwestern Bangladesh, remains a focal point for monitoring due to regular trafficking and smuggling activities.

The apprehended individuals are currently in BGB custody pending further investigation and processing. Authorities have not disclosed their identities or stated reasons for their attempted border crossing.
