Bharat Gas offers interest-free microloans for cylinder refills

Bharat Gas has introduced a microloan facility aimed at easing the financial burden on economically disadvantaged households struggling to purchase liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder refills. Under the scheme, eligible customers can avail loans of up to ₹600 without incurring any interest charges.

The initiative addresses a persistent problem faced by lower-income families who often face hardship when their cooking gas cylinders run empty but lack immediate funds for replacement. By eliminating the interest component, the company aims to make essential household fuel more accessible to vulnerable consumer segments.

Customers availing the facility are required to repay the borrowed amount within a four-week window. The zero-interest structure ensures that borrowers pay back only the principal amount without any additional financial burden, making it an affordable option for cash-strapped households.

The scheme underscores efforts by major LPG distribution companies to enhance financial inclusivity and ensure uninterrupted access to cooking fuel for economically weaker sections across India. Such measures align with broader goals of improving household energy security in the country's lower-income demographics.
