Bhopal Dengue Cases Cross 156 Mark As Health Officials Step Up Campaign

Bhopal's dengue caseload has reached 156, prompting the city's health department to launch a comprehensive public awareness campaign aimed at controlling the mosquito-borne illness. Officials are focusing on early detection and preventive measures as the number of infections shows an upward trajectory.

Residents have been advised to remain vigilant for key warning signs including high fever, eye pain, joint and muscle aches, nausea, and skin rashes. Health authorities emphasise that individuals experiencing any combination of these symptoms should consult a medical professional immediately rather than attempting self-treatment or relying on home remedies.

The health department is undertaking multiple simultaneous initiatives to combat the spread of dengue, which is transmitted through Aedes mosquitoes. Prevention efforts include intensified surveillance in affected areas, fumigation drives, and public education campaigns highlighting the importance of eliminating breeding sites around homes and neighbourhoods.

Oficials have also called on residents to take personal precautions such as using mosquito nets, applying repellents, and ensuring proper disposal of water containers that could serve as breeding grounds. The department continues to monitor the situation closely and has strengthened laboratory facilities to expedite diagnosis and treatment protocols across the city's health centres.
