Bihar announces three major schemes for women on Raksha Bandhan

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary announced three significant schemes for the state's women on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, marking a substantial push toward female empowerment and entrepreneurship.

Under the first initiative, the Abhaya Brigade will receive 4,700 scooters and motorcycles, aimed at enhancing mobility and safety for women across the state. The vehicle distribution is intended to facilitate independent transportation and support women's participation in social and economic activities.

The government also unveiled a doctoral fellowship programme that will benefit approximately 1,000 female students. Selected scholars will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 10,000 over a four-year period to pursue PhD studies, with the aim of encouraging higher research and academic advancement among women.

Additionally, the state launched the Bihar Ki Beti Startup Challenge scheme, which will provide financial assistance to women entrepreneurs. Participants can access grants ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 2 lakh to establish and develop their business ventures, promoting self-employment and economic independence among women across Bihar.
