Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has instructed state administration to intensify preparations for the upcoming festival season, focusing on public health, sanitation, and security infrastructure across Bihar. The comprehensive directive aims to ensure citizens can celebrate without concerns over cleanliness or safety during the busy festive period.
As part of the initiative, officials have been tasked with launching special cleanliness drives across urban and rural areas to maintain hygiene standards during the season when public gatherings typically increase. The state administration will coordinate enhanced sanitation operations to address waste management and environmental concerns that usually arise during peak festive activities.
Second to sanitation, security measures have been prioritized at critical infrastructure points. Railway stations, bus terminals, and Chhath ghats—significant religious sites where large crowds congregate during the festival season—will see intensified security operations. The state has mandated 24-hour patrolling at these locations to maintain law and order and ensure public safety during the expected surge in visitors and pilgrims.
The directive reflects efforts to balance the administrative challenges posed by seasonal migration and increased public movement with citizen welfare. By addressing sanitation, transportation hub management, and security simultaneously, the state government aims to create a coordinated response to festival season demands that have historically strained municipal and security resources across Bihar.
