Bengaluru Police arrested the suspect following an investigation into the circulation of the fabricated video on Instagram. The synthetic media depicted a bomb blast at Vidhana Soudha, the seat of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly in the state capital.
The 25-year-old accused, identified as a migrant laborer working in Bengaluru, allegedly created and uploaded the artificial video to the social media platform. Police sources said the content was generated using artificial intelligence technology to simulate an explosion at the iconic government building.
The arrest comes amid growing concerns over the misuse of AI-generated media for creating false and potentially inflammatory content. Authorities said the video could have caused public alarm and posed a threat to social harmony.
