Bihar's council elections for member legislative council (MLC) positions registered disparate turnout levels across different electoral categories. The teacher constituencies demonstrated robust voter participation, with 82.85% turnout recorded across these segments, reflecting strong engagement from the educator community.
In contrast, graduate constituencies showed considerably lower participation rates, with an overall turnout of 53.42%. Geographical variations emerged across graduate segments, with Patna leading at 57.56%, followed by Darbhanga and Kosi constituencies at 54.73% each. The Tirhut graduate constituency recorded the lowest participation at 48.51%.
The disparity between teacher and graduate category turnout underscores differing levels of electoral participation among Bihar's professional constituencies. While educators demonstrated substantial engagement in the electoral process, graduate voters showed more moderate involvement despite their expanded franchise in MLC elections.
These voting patterns reflect ongoing trends in Bihar's council elections, where participation levels have historically varied based on voter categories and regional factors. The results provide insights into engagement levels among specific demographic groups in the state's legislative processes.
