Authorities arrested Ahmed in Kerala on Tuesday, concluding an extensive manhunt spanning several years. Ahmed had been evading law enforcement since 2019, when he allegedly committed the murder of a Rashtriya Janata Dal leader in Bihar.
Investigators revealed that Ahmed had strategically used Kerala as a base of operations during his years on the run. While maintaining his hideout in the southern state, he allegedly continued to conduct criminal activities in Bihar, exploiting the geographical distance to evade detection.
The arrest represents a culmination of coordinated efforts between Bihar police and Kerala law enforcement agencies. Officers tracked Ahmed's movements across state borders and finally located him in Kerala, leading to his detention.
Ahmed is expected to face interrogation regarding the RJD leader's murder as well as other crimes committed during his period as a fugitive. Officials stated that further investigations are underway to establish the full extent of his alleged criminal activities and involvement of any associates.
