Bihar's Top Cop Quits Police Service, Named State Information Chief

Vinay Kumar, who served as Bihar's Director General of Police, has tendered his resignation from the Indian Police Service (IPS) through the voluntary retirement scheme (VRS), according to state government officials.

Following his departure from the police force, the Bihar government has promptly appointed Kumar as the state's Chief Information Commissioner (CIC), a position overseeing the implementation of transparency and right to information matters in the state.
