Bijnor bike thief used fake hair to evade CCTV cameras

A motorcycle theft suspect arrested in Bijnor's Afzalgarh area has exposed an unconventional method used to dodge identification by CCTV systems. The accused, identified as Sonu alias Sohel, allegedly wore a synthetic hair wig during bike thefts to conceal his actual appearance from security cameras.

According to police, the suspect would don the fake hairpiece while committing robberies, presenting a different physical profile on surveillance footage than his actual bald appearance. This tactic apparently enabled him to evade identification across multiple incidents before his eventual apprehension.

When presented before the media, police officers removed the wig from the accused to reveal his true appearance, demonstrating the discrepancy between his CCTV image and actual looks. The case has drawn attention to the creative methods some suspects employ to circumvent modern security systems.

Police have registered charges related to the bike thefts and are investigating whether the accused was involved in additional robberies in the region. The case highlights challenges law enforcement faces in surveillance-based investigations when suspects employ simple disguise tactics.
